Your existing post should have an inside diameter (I.D.) of at least 2.21".

I'd give it 5 stars if the price was lower. When I can get an 8 foot by 2 /38" galvanized pipe for about $30, paying $16.45 for a 2 foot pipe with a tapered end seems a bit much. That said, it did the trick.

I am a fence contractor in Colorado. We recently installed a 4ft chainlink fence for a client. After several weeks they decided they needed a taller fence for the dog. These post extensions were the answer. They were as described on the website, and fit perfectly in standard residential chainlink posts. I did have to cut the indentation off the top of the existing posts, but otherwise it was a smooth install. The shipping was very fast, and I live in a small mountain town that usually has slow delivery. I was very impressed with the quick turn around, and will definitely return in the future for this item or others when needed. I have been putting privacy fence up around my yard by using the existing poles and sliding 6' poles over the top, but ran into a problem at the corners, where the posts were already the 2-3/8 size. I simply googled "privacy fence post extensions" and discovered that these are an actual thing! I had no idea, so you can only imagine how happy I am that I didn't have to dig those corner posts out and deal with pouring the concrete and buying more 6' posts at $22 each (let alone you can't find them ANYWHERE right now). These are priced very reasonably and were shipped and received within a few days. Great customer service when you call with questions too! I would buy these again and have recommended them to friends doing the same thing.
